Who We Are
My name is Megan Miller, and I’m a proud mom, wife, homesteader, and educator passionate about creating an enriching, nurturing environment for children to grow and thrive.
With a deep love for nature, animals, and hands-on learning, I started this program back in 2019 to give children more than just a place to spend their day—I wanted to give them a meaningful childhood experience. Inspired by Montessori principles and fueled by the wonders of our 60-acre property, I aim to help children explore the natural world, build confidence, and make memories that last a lifetime.
I am certified in First Aid and CPR through the American Red Cross and medication administration through Code One, ensuring the children in my care are always safe and well cared for. In addition, I've completed specialized training in emergency response to active shooter situations through the Connecticut State Police Academy, which strengthens my commitment to maintaining a secure and prepared environment for your child.
From tending to animals to hiking woodland trails and learning through play in our Art Studio-style daycare space, every moment at Roots & Wings is thoughtfully designed to connect children to the world around them. My goal is to instill values of kindness, respect, and curiosity, empowering children with “roots” to ground them and “wings” to help them soar.
Thank you for trusting me to be a part of your child’s journey. I can’t wait to welcome your family to our little farm!
