  • Field trips

Rather than following a strict calendar, we embrace low-enrollment days as opportunities for spontaneous adventures!

Our field trips have taken us to some incredible places, from Mystic Aquarium to the Stonington Borough where we search for sea glass on Dubois Beach in the winter and enjoy fresh seafood for lunch. We’ve explored the CT Science Center, and gotten amazing Jamaican food in Hartford. We’ve gone to the Dr. Seuss Museum, Mystic Seaport Museum, Roger Williams Zoo, Forest Park Zoo, Sturbridge Village and many local parks.

We also love hands-on learning experiences, such as visiting the Ballard Museum of Puppetry, local farms, my father’s sugar shack for syrup season, libraries, the Uconn Dairy Bar, setting up camp at Coventry Lake and enjoying other local favorites like Willington Pizza. If there’s a great spot within driving distance of Coventry-chances are we’ve explored it!

If I can fit all the kids in my van on a low-enrollment day, we’re off on an adventure—introducing them to culture, art, nature, and diversity whenever possible.
